The 888poker Super XL Series kicked off over the weekend with seven events. Coming hot out of the gates, the series began with the $300,000 Super XL Opening Event.

Players turned out in droves and when the smoke cleared, 'AcesJoker88' emerged as the champion and earned $59,283, the largest payday of the weekend's Super XL tournaments.

'AcesJoker88' Wins The Opening Event

'AcesJoker88' made his largest cash on 888poker to date, almost six times his previous largest cash of $9,262 set in the $40,000 QuarterBack in May of this year.

Second place in the $300,000 Super XL Opening Event went to 'eijseijs', from Sweden, who walked off with $42,190, a pretty healthy consolation prize. He's a former winner of the $100,000 Sunday Challenge, which he won earlier this year for $20,476. He was one of two Swedes to finish in the top five of the Opening Event.

Canada's 'BYLIA' was the third place finisher in the kickoff event and earned $32,292. He almost matched his win in the $100,000 Mega Deep in January 2015, which remains his largest score on the site to date.

Here were the final table results for the $300,000 Super XL Opening Event:

1 AcesJoker88 (Costa Rica) $59,283
2 eijseijs (Sweden) $42,190
3 BYLIA (Canada) $32,292

'Adamyid' Wins $250,000 Super XL WHALE

The $250,000 Super XL WHALE, the seventh event on the schedule, took place on Sunday. 'Adamyid', from the United Kingdom, struck it rich in the $600 buy-in tournament, bagging $57,129 for the win. He was one of three players from the UK to reach the final table.

For 'Adamyid', it was his largest cash ever at 888poker, and he edged out Peru's 'Diegoavc' heads-up. 'Diegoavc' was the lone final table representative from South America and banked $41,865 in the weekend's finale. And, like 'Adamyid', 'Diegoavc', he recorded his largest tournament cash at 888poker, besting a $26,543 payday for getting second in the $150,000 WHALE in March.

Third place in the $250,000 Super XL WHALE went to Costa Rica's 'Condumb'. The Central American player cashed for $30,832. Coincidentally, his previous two largest cashes on 888poker are both third place finishes in the WHALE, so he has had plenty of success in this tournament before.

Here were the final table results for the massive $250,000 Super XL WHALE. The top six players all took home five-figure paydays:

1 Adamyid (United Kingdom) $57,129
2 Diegoavc (Peru) $41,865
3 Condumb (Costa Rica) $30,832
4 MalakiasCF (United Kingdom) $23,275

Canada's 'LCfish' was your winner in the $200,000 Super XL Mega Deep, the fourth event on the schedule over the weekend. His win in the $215 buy-in tournament was worth $40,630, one of the largest paydays given out over the weekend. He won a special edition of the 888poker Volcano in May for over $35,000, now his second largest score on the site to date.

Bulgaria's '888Stoyan' was the runner-up to 'LCfish' in the $200,000 Super XL Mega Deep and raked in almost $30,000. It was his largest cash on 888poker.
