On Monday, 888poker pro Chris 'moorman1' Moorman, the most accomplished online poker pro in the history of the game, continued to dominate on the live felts as well. Moorman took third in the Estrellas Poker Tour Main Event in Barcelona for €241,300.

"Obviously I'm a bit disappointed not to win the tournament after coming so close and beating out thousands of players, but it is important to remember the times in a tournament you were short-stacked and how easily you could have busted for next to no money at all," Moorman said. "Overall, I'm really happy with how I played, which is all you can do at the end of the day. It's also nice that I can represent 888poker deep in a big tournament like this. I had lots of players asking me about the site and I was happy to tell them more."

The outcome could have been a lot different. Moorman led the Estrellas Poker Tour Main Event three-handed coming out of the final break of the tournament, but relinquished the lead to Tuenis Kooij in a hand in which Kooij bet 3.2 million on a board of 4-2-J-3 with two diamonds. Moorman called behind and the four of spades hit on the river. Both players checked and Moorman mucked when Kooij flashed 8-8.

Moorman then doubled up Mohamed Samri after ending up on the short end of a race with A-10 against pocket nines. The board was no help to Moorman and the pocket pair held.

The majority of the 888poker pro's chips went into the middle after a 4bet all-in with pocket sixes. However, instead of flipping, the Brit was well behind Kooij's pocket queens, and the poker gods didn't give him the ammo to catch up. Moorman was eliminated on the very next hand, but collected a healthy €241,300 for his run in the Barcelona tournament.

He was the only player from the UK to make the ESPT Barcelona Main Event final nine and led the field entering the unofficial final table. After Moorman was eliminated, Samri and Kooij struck a deal to end the tournament that gave the former €353,220, while Kooij got €372,060.

While his opponents weren't bluffing down the stretch, they certainly were early on. Moorman said, "I found that the players weren't scared to put all of their chips in the middle as a bluff. The overall vibe on the tournament felt very friendly and relaxed."

The third place finish marked Moorman's first cash in an Estrellas Poker Tour event, according to the Hendon Mob. And his €241,300 score will move him into seventh place on the all-time money list for England, passing Mark Teltscher and Jake Cody. Moorman now has just over $4.4 million in live winnings – not bad for a player normally associated with his online success.

Speaking of online, Moorman has a record $13.4 million in career online tournament winnings according to PocketFives, the most of any poker player in the word, including almost $200,000 on 888poker. In the live world, he has two mammoth seven-figure scores to his credit, which came after a second place finish in the 2011 World Series of Poker Europe Main Event ($1.06 million) and a win in the World Poker Tour's LA Poker Classic Main Event in 2014 ($1.01 million).

Here were the top eight finishers in Barcelona:

  1. Mohamed Samri (France) - €353,220
  2. Tuenis Kooij (Netherlands) - €372,060
  3. Chris Moorman (UK) - €241,300
